The Palatka Film and Theatre Society, a new and dynamic nonprofit organization, is currently seeking dedicated volunteers and interns to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience, build their creative portfolios, and contribute to a vibrant and inclusive cultural movement in the heart of Palatka.

We are especially interested in individuals with experience or strong interest in film production, acting, photography, creative writing, mentoring, tutoring, and teaching. Whether you’re a student, a recent graduate, a working professional looking to give back, or a passionate hobbyist, we welcome your unique talents and energy. This role is ideal for those looking to develop their skills while connecting with like-minded artists and educators.

Volunteers and interns will be expected to contribute approximately 6 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate other commitments. Responsibilities may include supporting film and theatre workshops, assisting with educational outreach, mentoring youth participants, documenting events through photography or video, or helping to create original written content for performances and promotional efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and organizing film and theatre workshops and events

Participate in rehearsals, script readings, or creative sessions

Mentor and tutor youth and emerging artists in artistic or academic areas

Capture photos and videos of events, productions, and behind-the-scenes activities

Create written content such as short scripts, promotional materials, or blog posts

Provide administrative or logistical support as needed for productions

Help promote society events and programs through outreach and social media

Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and develop creative projects

Attend regular check-ins and planning meetings (virtually or in person)

As a startup nonprofit, we are currently unable to offer monetary compensation. However, we provide a supportive and enriching environment focused on professional growth, community building, and creative exploration. Volunteers and interns will gain valuable exposure, personalized recommendation letters, and the opportunity to showcase their work through our productions and public events. Your involvement will directly support our mission to cultivate the next generation of storytellers and artists in Palatka and beyond.
